Tampa is a bustling metro area right on Tampa Bay with close access to the Gulf of Mexico. There are a many great neighborhoods in Tampa and the surrounding Hillsborough County area. In this article we highlight a few of Tampa’s neighborhoods that provide good access to major roadways and also close to shopping and entertainment.

Ballast Point

Ballast Point is an older neighborhood situated right by Hillsborough Bay and north of the MacDill Air Force Base. The neighborhood boasts historic homes, many that have undergone renovation. The neighborhood also has condos. The real gem of the neighborhood is Ballast Point Park, which is a recreational site with sweeping view of the downtown Tampa skyline. The park includes a fishing pier, shade trees, picnic spots, a jogging trail, and gazebo.

Seminole Heights

Seminole Heights is another historic neighborhood in Tampa. The neighborhood is defined by its bungalow architecture and reflects the Craftsman and Arts & Crafts influences. If you love great architecture, front porches, tree lined streets, and a sense of community then you might want to look into Seminole Heights. There is a growing business community in the neighborhood too, which includes a mix of older shops with newer chain stores. Professional services are also available in the neighborhood. Hunter’s Green

Located in New Tampa, Hunter’s Green is a master planned community. This award-winning community was recognized by the Association of Home Builders for its great design. It’s close to major freeways and shopping. A unique thing about this community is the annual Brandon Balloon Classic which features over 50 hot air balloons from around the US.
