San Diego is a charming and diverse place. Michael Cullen’s time-lapse “A Day At San Diego” captures the city’s variety perfectly, and his creative use of the tilt-shift photographic technique makes some scenes look like tiny models that have come to life.
It’s got requisite beach and boating clips, but also shows colorful shops and older attractions of “America’s Finest City.” If the accelerated sundown at 1:36 doesn’t melt your heart, then don’t even bother with the incredible fireworks and golden skyline shots (1:40–1:51) that close out Cullen’s “Day.”
