It’s no secret that Boston is a picture-perfect city steeped of history, culture, cream pies and that oh-so-distinctive accent. Now, thanks to Instagram, we know know it’s also a fantastic city for indulging in sweet treats, channeling your inner kid, and even catching glimpse of an exotic animal.

1. Because history wins out over modern here.

2. Because this is who welcomes you to the library.

6. Because why wouldn’t you see a show here?

7. Because tragedy only brings Bostonians together… and inspires them to run even farther next year.

8. Because who wouldn’t be inspired at this college?

9. Because there’s a reason for all that Boston pride….

10. … and the fans aren’t letting anyone forget it.

11. Because snow days are the best days…

12. …unless it’s a fall day.

13. Because a trip out on the harbor doubles as a history tour. Tea, anyone?

14. Because this is how music festivals are done.

15. Because how could you not make this into a photo op.

16. Because here, it’s never too early for a pint, or two.

17. Ditto for a Mike’s cannoli.

18. Because even in the heart of New England, you can still see a zebra.

19. Because you don’t have to go across the ocean to find a Little Italy….

20. … or a lot of fine art.

21. Because who says it only has to be baked beans and cream pie?

22. Because the ducklings can make anyone smile.

23. Because nothing says New England like clam chowder.

24. Because it’s “where everybody knows your naaame….”

25.… and where a salted caramel waffle from Saus is a thing of beauty.

26. Because it’s basically impossible to take a bad photo of this town.

27. Because carousels aren’t just for kids…

28. … and neither is ice skating.

29. Because if you think Boston sports are just about the Red Sox, think again.
