Waimanalo Reservoir is just 15 miles from Honolulu, and was built to supply irrigation water for the nearby town. Some locals and visitors, however, have found another amazing use for the giant basin.
When the reservoir’s tarp-covered sloped walls are watered down, it turns into the largest slip ‘n slide. This video shows a group riding tubes, skimming small surf boards, and even bodysurfing to a speedy splashdown. Reportedly, the local authorities are cracking down on trespassers—the facility is on private property—but, wow, it does look like massive fun.
I might be tempted to sneak in. Would you?
