The HomeGain Blog recently published the results of a survey of over 1,000 American home-sellers. These sellers were asked whether they enlisted a Realtor to help sell their homes, as well as whether they managed to sell and whether they would use a Realtor again.
The results provide a strong argument in favor of using expert local real estate agents to buy or sell your home. The closing rate for those who used a Realtor for 50% higher than the closing rate for those who went down the FSBO road, and 88% of those who sold with a Realtor said that they would use a Realtor again.
All told, almost two-thirds of sellers who used a Realtor successfully sold their home. That may not sound like a lot, but in this market – which heavily favors buyers and has for quite some time – it’s definitely impressive. Only one-third of FSBO’s were lucky enough to close.
