Real Estate Brokerage to give bloggers throughout U.S. New Perspective on the Towns they Live in
Online residential real estate brokerage Movoto is launching a campaign to help residents throughout U.S. communities see their towns in a new way this fall. Movoto’s “Live Anywhere” Community Perspective Project aims to create conversation among residents regarding the places they live.
Movoto will sponsor unique living environments in major cities throughout the U.S. for bloggers and influential journalists. For instance, a blogger in Philadelphia could stay in the Betsy Ross House for a day, allowing them the ability to experience the cultural perspective of Philadelphia, considered one of the most patriotic and historical cities in the country. Another possibility is a conversation with the Philadelphia Eagles to get permission for a local reporter to stay inside Lincoln Financial Field for the night, putting a perspective on the importance of sports on Pennsylvania’s biggest city.
Movoto is also attempting to arrange other unique ‘living perspectives,’ including a day-long stay atop Pigeon Forge, Tennessee’s famous “Wonders of Flight” helium balloon.
“We’re hoping that through the eyes and words of local influential reporters and bloggers, we can create a dialogue about cities and communities in new ways,” said Movoto spokesman Nick Johnson. “By looking at their own towns in new ways, we hope to shed light on the importance of a new conversation about the cultural, historical and political significance of each city.”
The campaign follows on the footsteps of Movoto’s popular publishing division. Its blog posts, which have been cited widely in major media throughout the world, break down individual criteria within cities to create unique rankings, such as, “Safest Cities in a State” and national rankings such as, “Most Exciting Small Cities in America.”
Additionally, Movoto has works with writers throughout the country to report on selected communities, in order to become a valued resource for people looking to move. Posts such as, “30 Things New Jersey People Love,” and, “24 Photos of Pittsburgh That Will Make You Want To Move There,” are ways for outsiders to gain a perspective about cities they’ve never been and for locals to learn about their own communities.
In total, Movoto averages more than 15 million visitors a month to its blog, making it one of the top 10 most visited blogs in the world, according to a compilation of statistics from Alexa, Compete and Quantcast.
“Our goal is to be a valued resource for our growing customer base, who wants to know as much about communities they are considering a move to, as well as to spark conversations among residents in these communities,” Johnson said. “By looking at these places in a unique manner, we hope to get people talking among one another about what it means to live where they do.”
Movoto will be announcing new “Community Perspective Projects” as they are created. The entire project will be featured on Movoto’s blog, www.movoto.com/blog/real-estate-and-more/CommunityPerspective.
