1. “Wait, Are You A Packers Fan Then?”
It should be obvious by now, but of course you’re a Packers fan. Who else would you cheer for in Wisconsin…the Vikings?
2. “But Why Don’t You Like The Bears?”
The answer to this question can be summed up in four short words: the Bears still suck. They always have and they always will. Ask any Packers fan. They all hate this bitter rival and, as long as the bears suck (aka a lifetime) that’s something that will never change.
3. “Who’s Bucky?”
He’s the mascot for the Wisconsin Badgers and he’s kind of a big deal around these parts. If this guy’s around, it’s always a good time.
4. “What’s In A Cheese Curd?”
Cheese…just cheese…and sometimes a crunchy deep-fried shell. This Wisconsin dish is made up from the solid parts of soured milk and it’s delicious.

A regional term that’s quite popular in Wisconsin, “bubbler” is just a more fun way of referring to what most people call a drinking fountain.
6. “A Brat Is Just A Big Hot Dog, Right?”
Never ever compare a brat to a hot dog in the Badger State, they’re two completely different types of food.
While they both might be tubed meats, Brats are much tastier and more filling, typically made with high-quality pork. Try one Wisconsin beer brat and you can taste the difference.
7. “Are You Actually Looking For A Time Machine?”
A popular brand of ATM in the Wisconsin region, it’s TYME machine, not time machine. If someone is looking for one of these, they just want a little cash, not an adventure filled with dinosaurs.
8. “What’s An Old Fashioned?”

9. “Why Are They Called The Brewers?”
It doesn’t take long in Milwaukee to realize the impact that the beer industry has had on this town. After all, it is known around the country as “Beertown.”
10. “Do You Know Where I Can Find A Bar?”
In Wisconsin, finding a bar is always a no-brainer. With one of the highest bar to resident ratios in the country, spotting the local watering hole is often as easy as a short walk down the street.

11. “You’re Supposed To Drive In This?”
When it comes to snow, Wisconsinites are no cowards. Whether there’s a light dusting or half a foot on the ground, life goes on normally in this state.
Don’t believe me? Just wait until a Wisconsinite friend is driving you through a blizzard at 65 miles per hour with no sense of fear in their eyes.
12. “Are Fish Frys Like Chicken Fries?”
Thankfully, a “fish fry” has nothing to do with oddly shaped, over-processed meats. If you get invited to a fish fry, it’s just a social gathering in Wisconsin that usually takes place on Friday, built around deep-fried food and beer.

While it might not be pumping through every Wisconsinite’s speakers, they all have a soft spot for this genre of tunes thanks to the many times they’ve seen live performances on street corners and at local fairs.
14. “Do You Always Drink This Much?”
Yes, yes we do. Wisconsin is famous for the amount of booze consumed in the state, so it’s no surprise that many residents can often be found with a beer in hand whether they’re out with friends or just doing household chores. Don’t knock it ‘til you try it.

19. “Where’s Up North?”
In Wisconsin, “up north” isn’t a specific place. It’s simply a way of referring to a tiny lakeside cabin that’s hidden away in the middle of a forest. If someone says they’re headed “up north”, they’re in for a relaxing trip and probably don’t want a ton of people tagging along.
20. “Why Do You Keep Saying ‘Stop And Go’ Light?”
That’s what it does, right? It tells you when to stop…and then when to go. Wisconsinites are the only group of people bold enough to point out that the term “stop light” is quite inaccurate.

Hunting culture is huge in Wisconsin, thanks to the copious amounts of wildlife that roam this beautiful state. While every Wisconsinite might not be pulling the trigger themselves, most of them are perfectly fine with their friends and neighbors pursuing this hobby.
After all, it does help bring some pretty awesome meat to the table.
22. “Isn’t Custard Just The Same Thing As Ice Cream?”
Custard has egg in it. Ice cream typically does not. This gives custard a much creamier, smoother consistency making it that much more delicious.
23. “PBR Is That Hipster Beer Right?”
NO! It’s not! While the rest of the country thinks that PBR is just some beer that ironic people drink, in Wisconsin, it’s a favorite for all. It’s no big surprise. Original brewing of this beer started in Milwaukee during the 1840s and the locals refuse to forget it.
24. “Do You Have An Accent?”
Popular opinion seems to be that people from Wisconsin don’t actually have an accent. While certain vowels might sound a little funny at times, especially when regional words slip in to conversation, for the most part this seems to be true.
25. “What’s The Big Deal With Your Cheese?”
For one, it doesn’t come wrapped in plastic. It’s also usually locally made and full of fresh flavor. Expect at least 4 types of cheese in a Wisconsinite’s fridge at any given time.
26. “How Do You Stop These Bugs?”
In short, you don’t. If you’re hanging out lakeside in this state during the warmer months, no amount of bug spray will have you fully protected.
27. “Wait, So How Do You Play Sheepshead?”
This trick-taking card game can be a little confusing for beginners. Instead of asking for help, the best way to learn is by watching several hands.
28. “When Can We Take The Boat Out Again?”
Any Wisconsin boat-owner can relate to this request. Having a boat in a state with so much water means you’ll instantly be everyone’s best friend come summertime.
Don’t have a boat for yourself? It’s usually best to wait until you’re asked to come along for the ride rather than trying to invite yourself.
29. “Isn’t It Just Cold All The Time?!”
Most outsiders see pictures of Wisconsin in the winter and assume that it’s a frozen wasteland year round. Anyone who’s from the state knows that this couldn’t be further from the truth. There’s no better way to spend a summer than by exploring the Badger State.
30. “Why Would You Ever Live In Wisconsin?”
Awesome beer, awesome cheese, awesome brats, awesome sports, awesome nature, awesome music, awesome people…I could easily keep going. One of the coolest, most unique state’s in the country, Wisconsin is a place that only takes one short visit for you to fall in love.
