The USA’s ninth most populous state is Michigan, a name that comes from the Ojibwa word meaning ‘large water’ or ‘large lake’. Michigan certainly is a state full of water; not only is it surrounded by four out of five Great Lakes, but it has nearly 65,000 inland lakes and ponds making this a boaters paradise!
