Part 2 After being assured his correct schedule had been reconstructed and all was taken care of. He went to a class he was told was his correct engineering program class only to be told by a teacher that he was in the wrong class and that he should go to a different class for that period. However, the class he was told to attend was the Geometry class that he had just attended the period before. As it turned out, the engineering class he was scheduled for was apparently an 11th grade course that he should never have been scheduled into in the first place. When I tried to go to the school website to email a counselor or principal or someone to ask what all the issues were about or at least get some intelligent advice, it appears the website is shutdown. When I tried to access the district site to see if I somehow had a bad link to the school site, the District site appeared to have been shutdown. Great first impression Santana and Grossmont Union School district. If a student performed the way the school has thus far, the parents would probably be informed the kid had ADHD and needed to be placed on medication. Santana High School's faculty is part of my inspiration to get both a Master of Arts in Teaching and Master of Arts in Literature. In fact, my history teacher inspired me to look at literature through a historical lens by making us interact with it through hands-on applications. Unfortunately, there are bad apples everywhere and many people don't know how to differentiate using logical sequences.Read Full Review

Both of our daughters attended Santana High School. Even though given the choice between Santana and West Hills, we overwelmingly selected Santana and advise others in the neighborhood not to be swayed buy the fact that West Hills is a newer campus. Santana has teachers that are dedicated to the students, following their educational progress throughout their 4 years with an emphasis on "which" college to attend, NOT "whether" they will attend college. Our daughters completed 4 years at Santana and went on to graduate from UC schools. Many teachers volunteer alot of their time to student activities that have been cut due to budget constraints. This creates a well rounded education. I feel this is why the children graduating from Santana are successful. Caring Teachers. It would be nice for the Staff to be compensated for the extra time and effort they put into each student. Despite the tragedy on March 5, 2001 in which we lost 2 wonderful students, the faculty at Santana has united this community.Read Full Review

WOW, Santana High School has feels like a college. They have brought in an engineering program that links up with SDSU. When looking at what school my child should attend I was impressed with their test scores and the small size of the student population compared to other schools, it feels like a private school that you should be paying big bucks for. The campus has new classrooms, athletic areas and future construction projects are being paid for by two bonds that have already been passed. Read Full Review

Santana has many great benefits. The teachers seem to truly care about the students success. It offers more sports than any other school in the district. Class sizes are small. Location is great. One thing that makes this school so awesome is it's smaller, therefore, the teachers can give more attention to the students that need it and the staff gets to know the students by name. Unfortunately, because it's so small, the school does not get the funding. I believe that the students and parents would feel they made a good choice in attending Santana High.Read Full Review

I attends Santana and I am going to be a sophmore. I could not be happier. I love all the extracurricular activities, the students, the teachers, and I even made varsity cheerleading. Santana is the best school I could have hoped for and I recommend everyone to go there.Read Full Review

Santana is moving in the right direction and is showing a real commitment to students and parents.I have on many occasions received feedback on my son progress and sometimes lack of progress.I have also receive positive unsolicited feedback on his behavior, class participation.Santana campus is open to parents and if you choose to stop by, call or set up an appointment the staff is very helpful and happy to have interaction from parents of their students.Read Full Review

My daughter graduated from Santana in 2000. Now my Son is a sophmore, he really enjoyed the school when it was the block system of 3 classes a day. On tuesday twice a month they have half a day where they only spend 30 minutes in period, which there are 6 periods in this day. The kids can not learn anything and it is not fair to the teachers. All in all Santana has been a good school. I think they need to review this year compared to the past years.Read Full Review

I enjoyed going here during the 1993-1997 school years. I was on the swim team and the teachers were great. There was peer mediation available. They don't have a diverse population, but are able to help the minorities fit in.Read Full Review
