Reviews for Orchard Place School

The Orchard Place method sets both teachers and students up for failure. Teachers must threaten students in order for students to do any work; students do the least amount possible in hopes to pacify case-managers and leave the facility. Although most of the Orchard Place staff is well-intended, Orchard Place believes that the illnesses of the children here can be cured by simply containing the behavioral problems. Orchard Place therapists make no attempt to find the roots of these children's problems and few of them make the progress they could. Also, the funding for Orchard Place gets cut pretty regularly which inevitably leads to fewer one-on-one attention and crowded classrooms (both counterproductive for students with mental illnesses).Read Full Review
