Dick and Mac McDonald opened McDonald's Barbecue Restaurant in 1940, right here in San Berdoo. As its name suggests, it had a lot of BBQ food back then (no the McRib doesn’t count). Once the company made the switch to burgers though, fast food was born.

Now, the site of the original Mickey D's is an unofficial museum owned by Juan Pollo Restaurants and is right on historic Route 66.
