Ellen Laura Esses

Ellen Laura Esses was a lesson for me in not trusting everyone to tell the truth. From the very moment I met her, I sense that she was overly controlling. In subsequent interactions, she managed to lose my respect competely. She positioned herself between the buyer and the seller, telling me instead what was best for me, and attempted to convince me of what she thought I should and should not expect. She failed to listen to my requests nor to respect my underlying needs. It is my opinion that she abused her role and held herself to be the final authority; I never felt confident that she was communicating my concerns honestly or thoroughly to the other party.

Worst than being about money, it appears as if Ms. Esses´ motives center around power. Perhaps Abraham Lincoln spoke to this best when he said: “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man´s character, give him power.” In my experience, Ms. Esses could stand to learn from this wisdom.
