Set in Northwest Philadelphia, Roxborough is the 4th safest neighborhood in the city. The neighborhood grew up as a township, around the 19th century mills, and today has quite the variety of homes. In terms of crime, you have just a 1 in 201 chance of being the victim of violent crime, and a 1 in 65 chance of being the victim of property crime. The crime index is 60 percent lower than the Philadelphia average.
Mount Airy was named by CNNMoney as one of America’s top 10 best big-city neighborhoods in 2013, and our stats on crime figures back that up. It’s the 3rd safest neighborhood in Philadelphia, with a violent crime rate of 477 per 100,000 residents, and property crime rates of 1,558 per 100,000 residents. Originally part of the German Township, Chestnut Hill is today a neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia. It has some of the most expensive homes of the city, outside of Center City, and it’s the 2nd safest neighborhood in Philadelphia. Riverfront is the safest neighborhood in Philadelphia. As you may have guessed from the name, Riverfront is set alongside the Delaware River, just east of central Philly. It is safer than 98.2 percent of the neighborhoods in the city, so there’s just a 1 in 210 chance of being the victim of violent crime living here, and a 1 in 65 chance of being the victim of property crime.
