A charming antique cape with an interesting history! The structure was once the schoolhouse for Pattonville, a district of Littleton that sat in the portion of the Connecticut River Valley which was flooded to create Moore Reservoir. The post and beam structure was carefully disassembled and numbered, and was relocated piece by piece to Dalton in 1946. In late 1983 the home had full renovation/restoration but retained many of the original features, like the hardwood floors and brick hearth for the wood stove, built in shelves and cabinets, and hard Pine wainscoting on the walls, At the same time there was full upgrading to the mechanical systems as well as significantly reconfiguring the floor plan. The home is situated in a private location, wooded areas all around, and a Land Trust across the street, which helps to give it that country feeling, but it is just a short driving distance to the other towns for shopping and other activities. The school bus also goes up pass the house.
