I suppose you have your reasons. I have traveled to many countries but coming home to Louisiana is the utltimate. I love family cook ups, the friends I still have from grade school, the babies called bebes, the friendly love you to death Cajun people, neighbors looking out for one another, the fabulous food, the beautiful sunsets, the history of our people who fought so hard to get here etc. There is not enough space here to tell all of how I love my state. Have a great day and I am sorry you do not love your home state…les la bon temp rouler

I was born and raised in La. went to Ringgold High Sch. up until l0th gr. and then back again.I would not take any thing for being raised there….its special….my friends and school days in the 50s, with Elvis just starting out
at the La. Hayride was a great time for us all…and Fats Dominio Blueberry Hill….could not forget that…
so don’t knock it!!!! yes, its sultry and hot, yes it has bugs, like a lot of other states.
but when you go home, you can feel the love….most of my family are gone now, so there is nothing to go home to.
    except this wonderful state…love it….f

I moved to Louisiana from Canada.Lived in the south 20 years.I had to move back to Canada and have longed for Louisiana ever since. My heart has always been in Louisiana, love the warm loving people, their hospitality. My son was born down there and wants to go back also, he is homesick for his place of birth that he calls home. We will always love Louisiana.

  9. Vickie

I was born here in Louisiana and now I’m about to be 37yrs old and I wouldn’t change where I live for anything. Everyone that says they love Louisiana has a lot to say about the people and they are right. We all are friendly, well at least most of the people are. We do watch out for each other and our food down here is the best. I met many people that travel here because I worked at a Hotel but most of them love it here and many are overwhelmed by the friendly people out here. They say that’s why they come to Louisiana, for the people and food and to me, that’s what makes Louisiana my home too

Born and raised in Hawaii, I lived in the N.O. area for 38 years before being displaced by Katrina. I have very fond memories of my years there and miss the people, lifestyle, and food. There is an intangible something about living in Louisiana that can’t be described unless you have lived there. I used to tell people that I turned into a vampire in the summer–only came out after the sun went down because it was so hot in the summer! I always look forward to returning at least once a year to see my friends, eat the seafood (I eat fried oysters every day I’m there!), and embrace once again the magic of having lived in the Big Easy! The pictures are beautiful and evoke many fond memories.

Had to leave Metairie 13 Dec, 1981 because no job. BA/MA just didn’t work. I drove a Metry Cab for 2 years. Got DOD Civilian Historian job at Maxwell AFB, Montgomery, AL, and about to retire after over 30 years. Born old Mercy Hospital on Annunciation St. St. Michaels Grammer, DeLaSalle HS 1961. Miss my City, but love to visit sister in Metairie. Just too many phony people who believe that they’re real N’Awlins people for me. Miss many friends and especially Jimmy Fitz, who should have been Mayor in ”65 and ’69, and Mike Early at WWL TV.
