We can sound a bit preachy around here, but our experience has shown time and time again that photos sell houses. So when the lead photo of listing is not the perfectly lit, evening, picturesque front of a home, it hurts us to the soul. These 5 listings could all use a little help in the lead photo department.
1. Do Not Use
The toilet in this photo says it all. Several questions come to mind. Why is the agent using the bathroom as the lead photo? Why does the picture highlight the toilet? Why is there a piece of paper telling us not to use toilet? The agent should have just listened to the toilet and not use this photo as the lead photo for the listing.
2. Mickey Mouse’s House
I know Mickey Mouse is a pretty rich guy, but why would you a market a house to him? How nice can a house be when the listing agent does not even showcase a photo of the house on the listing. It seems like it might have been better to just say “No Photo Available”.
3. The Small Photo
Whoever put this up didn’t re-size the photo properly and the result is a little too much white space. I feel like it might actually be a pretty solid photo, but it is too hard to tell when it is this size. I guess on the possible plus side, it might grab your attention if it was on a page with many photos that were all larger.
4. Poor Placement of landscaping
I feel like the flowers would have been a little better placed to the left or right of directly in front of the garage.
5. Fire Damage
I actually do not fault the listing agent at all for this photo. It accurately defines the condition of the home and will help potential buyers to have to the proper expectations when going to see the home. This photo is more of an oddity than anything else and is one of the photos you can find when you search around the site for a little bit.
