Ditch the Skinny Jeans — Go Skinny Novelty Real Estate!

You may want to look away if you suffer from claustrophobia.

Around the world, skinny homes are beginning to catch on for a wide variety of reasons — the desire to have a piece of creative novelty real estate, restrictions on space, restraints due to taxes or building codes, or even the not-so-noble craving to stick it to a family member you dislike. (For example, take the capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam. The width of houses used to be taxed, which is why all the traditional Dutch homes in the city are tall and exceedingly thin.)

Let’s now take a look at a few skinny homes from around the globe. You may decide that this lifestyle is for you!
